We aggregate several measures of how many people are short selling (betting against a stock).
We use these to create a composite short interest sentiment score called the Short Score. This takes into account the relative level of short interest in terms of the percentage of shares outstanding and how many days of selling volume the short interest equals.
We also take into account the rate of change, which can be a very predictive factor to near term price changes since it typically indicates changing sentiment or new information being released.
This page allows you to search by Sector and Industry in order to assess specific strategies or easily locate the best companies within a changing market segment.
This page also displays other key technical indicators such as RSI, support/resistance levels, momentum and Demark indicators.
This can make it easy to find positive divergences where the price may have been overbought and pushed up to a key resistance level due to broad market moves but the particular company has negative sentiment.
Scenarios like this can create great opportunities for shorter term trades or indicate good/bad entry points for longer term investments.
